Kapok fibre is known for its heat-regulating and moisture-transporting properties. When you sleep on a kapok mattress, your bed will not be damp, cold or too hot. A kapok mattress is therefore particularly suitable for infants. Newborns have difficulty regulating their temperature. It is important for newborns that their temperature remains around 37 degrees and that they must neither become cold nor too hot. That is why the Kapok baby mattress is the perfect choice for newborns. The fibre quickly achieves body temperature and helps the child regulate heat. Another advantage of choosing a kapok mattress is that the kapok fibre is resistant to mites, such as house dust mites. They like to live in a moist environment, but since the kapok fibre does not absorb moisture, house dust mites cannot live in a kapok fibre. Therefore, we think it is important to find sleeping products that suit the child's preferences and needs. When you choose sleeping products filled with kapok fibres, you are guaranteed a nice temperate and dry night's sleep, with a product that is both organic and hypoallergenic. To give your child the best possible comfort during sleep, you can choose to add a kapok roll mattress to your kapok baby mattress. A kapok mattress is firm, as recommended for newborns. But if you want to add a little extra softness and comfort, a kapok roll mattress is an obvious choice. To protect your kapok mattresses, we recommend that you use our organic jersey sheet. The stretch sheet is woven from 100% organic cotton without the addition of synthetic fibres. If you want to give your child a 100% organic and chemical-free night's sleep, you can optionally supplement with one of our baby duvets and pillows. MAINTAINING YOUR KAPOK MATTRESS
As with all mattresses, it is a good idea to place the mattress on its side once in a while to air the mattress. If you have a bed with a slatted base, you must pay particular attention to airing the mattress regularly. These bed bases make it more difficult to transport moisture away from the mattress. Kapok transports moisture and heat away from the child, but if the moisture cannot get away from the base of the mattress, the moisture is trapped between the mattress and the sheet base. In the worst case, this can cause fungal spores to form under the mattress. Unfortunately, this can happen regardless of which mattress is used. Therefore, please air the mattress once a week, or as needed.
